Honouring a Faithful Friend and Supporter of SIKAT

With deep gratitude and affection, SIKAT – Helping Children Develop proudly dedicates the Colin Liddiard Community Support Fund in memory of our beloved trustee and friend, Mr. Colin Liddiard.

For more than seven years, Colin devoted his time, energy, encouragement, and unwavering support to our charity and to the children and families we seek to help in the Philippines. He was a kind, humble, and deeply compassionate man whose quiet dedication touched everyone who knew him.

Colin believed strongly in the mission of SIKAT. Even during difficult times, when our small charity struggled to find volunteers and support following the pandemic, he never lost hope. He tirelessly distributed leaflets, encouraged outreach efforts, attended regular meetings, and continued to inspire us with his positivity and determination.

Many Fridays were spent sharing lunch together at Westminster Cathedral followed by Mass — moments of friendship, guidance, and shared hope that will always remain treasured memories.

In one final act of extraordinary generosity, Colin chose to remember SIKAT in his Will. His legacy gift will help our charity continue supporting disadvantaged children and communities, carrying forward the vision he believed in so deeply.

The Colin Liddiard Community Support Fund will stand as a lasting tribute to his kindness and commitment. Through this fund, Colin’s compassion will continue to bring hope, opportunity, and support to children and families for generations to come.

We honour Colin not only for his generous contribution, but for his faithful friendship, his encouragement during difficult times, and his belief that even small acts of kindness can change lives.

With heartfelt gratitude, SIKAT – Helping Children Develop

Vangie’s Eulogy

We are extremely sad to announce that Vangie Carpanen passed away on the 11 Dec 2012. For us, she was not just a trustee member but a long friend of SIKAT’s. She was precise and tireless in her volunteering and fundraising, not just for us but also various other Filipino charities and communities.

Vangie was a wonderful person, full of cheer, commitment and caring. She was also a brilliant full time mother to four and a caring grandmother of three. She had fantastic strength that she shared with everyone.

Vangie you will be greatly missed.

May you rest in Peace.

Thank you Paul

October 2011

A huge thank you to one of our trustees Mr Paul Harrison for his dedication that makes a difference to SIKAT, and his generosity in arranging for donations collected in his mother’s name. We collected £340 in memory of his mother, who died at the age of 105 years old. The amount collected will help to furnish the library with tables, chairs and other facilities needed.
